Belts are an important part of your wardrobe but do you own too many? Most Women do, so you are far from alone.
As a Hair colour type with pink skin, I only need one belt colour and that's in a cool dark brown and the right width for me is as equally important
How wide your belt should be is about the scale of your proportions, and the size of your waist dip-ins (I explain this more in my video below).

And remember to always make sure that your shoes don't match the same colour as your belt when you can see both. Having no repetition in your outfit keeps the eye moving rather than bouncing back and forth.

You can watch this quick video to see it all in action.
New winter trend: Leather jackets.
It's actually leather everything, skirts, pants, dresses, jackets, trench coats and even shirts but leather jackets really are a forever thing.
So before you invest, let's have a look at what would work the hardest in your wardrobe.

Crop length leather jackets will prefer to be worn with dresses, skirts, shorts with boots, high-waisted pants, high-waisted relaxed denim jeans and denim flares.
Below hip-length jackets (below and like mine above) will work back with everything along with skinny jeans easily.
Oversized loose and longer fit jackets need to show more ...
Do you love the over-the-knee boots look with jeans? Or even just long boots with skinny jeans?
Me too.
There are two body shapes that wear this look the very best. They are the inverted triangle and rectangle body shape.
The reason for this is these two body shapes need to follow their slim leg line and nothing pulls this off better than a pair of slim boots worn with skinny jeans.

Whereas a triangle and hourglass body shape has more lower half curves to kick around so they work best with a pair of jeans that taper or have a tapering cuff at the bottom.

This is not to say that everyone can't give this style a try.
Let's have a look at some style rules to make this achievable for everyone.
When your boots come up higher than the bottom of your calf muscle dip in, they then become a part of your entire leg line.
It's important that you keep that leg line as one vis
Before you go long boots shopping (or even when shopping in your own wardrobe), the first and most important thing is to note what colour skirts and dresses you tend to wear over Winter.
Contrasting your last hem line is the key.

I enjoy wearing a midi boot (stops below where my calf muscle begins) with my long skirts with splits.
A long skirt with a strongly defined split shows off a midi boot completely and that should be your goal - expose the entire boot always. Even if it's just through the split.

If I wanted a second pair to wear with these skirts (above), I would go for a warm tan colour. If I was wearing warm tan midi boots, my hair would be considered the dark in these outfits.
Over-the-knee boots are a big trend this winter but I have had mine for years and years and wear them every single Winter (trends become classics when they suit your personal style).

Over-the-kn
...Prints! Some love them and some are kind of scared of them.
Well, let's have a look at my journey of learning more about them over the last 13 years.
When I very first started out, there were no real rules (and I love a system and a rule), as to how and where to wear prints so it took me quite a few years to establish the perfect placement.
First of all, we know prints need to have a colour or a theme in common to work together but in order to not look messy, to not give a visual jumping all over-the-place experience, prints need to be kept to just one section rather than just chucked on anywhere we like (as pictured below).

Choosing one area to bring in that dramatic print and layering that same area with another print is much easier to take in, no matter how crazy the print clash may seem.
Below is a screenshot of me in a live explaining to the babes (inside their closed Boss group) how to wear their new collaboration print bag.

As soon as our long haired weimaraner Chi sees our suitcases come down from the top of our wardrobe, she gets really anxious...
She hates it when we go away so I try to give her as less stress as possible by leaving the packing until the very last minute.
Luckily I'm quite the pro at packing quickly and successfully but the last two years of not going anywhere had me a little out of practice when we last went away in December.
So even I had to go back and read my How to pack ebook in order to refresh my packing plan.
This time we are off to Perth on Monday so I'll be leaving my packing until Sunday night.
Packing, of course, becomes so much easier, quicker and more enjoyable the more you stick to a plan.
My problem used to be (and I'm sure most of you can relate) that I would pack way too many clothes that I never even ended up wearing.
I would just chuck this in and then that in without even thinking about
...What happens when you are going away for a long weekend?
You over pack of course :)
So let me break it down for you nice and easy.
All you need to do is pack a light coloured top and a light coloured pair of shorts, then a dark top with a dark pair of shorts. Then grab a contrasting shoe for both bottoms.

Once the day cools down, keep the same tone of items you wore in the day.
This means you will need to grab a light knit and a light pair of jeans, plus a dark knit and a dark pair of jeans to swap out without changing the theme of the day.
You can then swap the tops around to create a whole new vibe from the previous days outfits.

Include a colour and a print in your top to increase your clothing vocabulary even further.
You should be so proud of yourself, that's four days covered with extremely different looks without packing very much at all (while looking effortlessly stylish).
If you are going away for even longe
Let's learn about blazer shapes and why I recommend everyone has at LEAST one and how you know which shape (and colour) to choose.
I've been helping Women to get dressed and build their perfect wardrobe for many, many years now, so even though I'm globally recognised as the "colour expert" or "colour whisperer", you better believe I've racked up the science behind styling everything.
And I mean everything!
Yes, there really is a science behind style that makes everything make sense.

All it takes is doing the same thing over and over again (but in many different ways), enough times that you learn what truly works the best.
Then you note every situation down on a cheat sheet and cross reference it back with everything else you try until you clearly see the science behind it.
PHEW! Did you feel puffed out just reading that?!
Luckily for you, I've done all of the hard work and for so long that I've actually created the perfect colour and wardrobe system
The key to the perfect wardrobe is learning how colours work together, as well as on you (more on that at the bottom of this email) but just knowing how they work together will give you a streamlined wardrobe with nothing left out in the cold.
Let's have a little lesson on how effective this is... Most of you have my Brilliant colour combinations e book so this will help you use it even more efficiently.
Putty versus oatmeal.

When you see them both side by side like this (I'm using my brilliant colour combinations e-book on my iPhone here), you clearly see how different they really are.
So let's say I purchased a pair of medium grey pants (I do own two pairs in medium grey), it helps me to know that medium grey goes with oatmeal and not putty - Bam!
This knowledge directs me to return home and build a stack of outfits using oatmeal and the very hard-to-style medium grey (one of the hardest colours to make work in your wardrobe so I never recommend
Do you know what Marle is?
Marle is a colour effect found in fabrics.
It is made by combining two (or more) different coloured yarns in one thread which is then used to construct the fabric.

Marle can be worn by everyone with no problems, but you may find that you need to wear it differently from others.
Have you ever thought about that?
Below is an example of how I wear marle the best - against other lumpy bumpy textured fabrics.

But some of you wear it back best back with shiny fabrics as in a smooth and textured outfit pairing.

Do you know which one you are?
The best way to tell is to go to your wardrobe and find a marle top, first put in on with a textured jacket, then try it with a smooth jacket.
I promise you will see it!
Once you work this out, your wardrobe becomes stacks more fun as you will be combining your pieces with a definite plan.
And you know how much I love a plan...
