Which Blazer Shape Suits Flare Jeans

Uncategorized Jun 26, 2023

Let's learn about blazer shapes and why I recommend everyone has at LEAST one and how you know which shape (and colour) to choose.

I've been helping Women to get dressed and build their perfect wardrobe for many, many years now, so even though I'm globally recognised as the "colour expert" or "colour whisperer", you better believe I've racked up the science behind styling everything.

And I mean everything!

Yes, there really is a science behind style that makes everything make sense.

All it takes is doing the same thing over and over again (but in many different ways), enough times that you learn what truly works the best.

Then you note every situation down on a cheat sheet and cross reference it back with everything else you try until you clearly see the science behind it.

PHEW! Did you feel puffed out just reading that?!

Luckily for you, I've done all of the hard work and for so long that I've actually created the perfect colour and wardrobe system to get dressed and shop by.

Because if you're like me - you love a good plan!

These blazer styling tips all come down to the shape of things.

If you own a couple of pairs of flare jeans that hold into a dramatic triangle shape (not to be mistaken for a fluid fabric pair of flare pants, I'm talking about a denim flare that holds that triangle no matter what).

Then you need a straight blazer that has no cut-ins, no pin tucks, and no peplum waist (Peplum (pep-luhm) is a short, gathered, slightly flared strip of fabric attached at the waist of a woman's jacket).

In other words, you don't match a flared waist with a pair of dramatic flare jeans.

You don't cover your whole body in triangles going every which way.

You put two shapes together, one calming rectangle shape and one dramatic triangle shape.

The dramatic triangle is actually the hero, the statement piece in your ensemble.

Now before you run out and grab that straight sided blazer to wear back with your flare jeans, make sure you know what colour to choose.

I collect blazers in my best light neutrals, skin colour, eye colour and best colour to go back with my skin colour.

You can learn all of this in my Boss of your wardrobe program.

OR  you can use my mood boards to try and work out your colour type on your own and then use my Brilliant colour combinations e book to discover which colours work back best with your skin colour and piece it all together using my 7 x 7 wardrobe planner - (all found inside my ULTIMATE CORE WARDROBE QUICK START KIT).

If you already own my QSK, you are set to go! Your next step however would be to learn even more about yourself (including your best denim wash and contrast) through completing my "Style made simple mini course".

Building the perfect wardrobe always starts with your skin colour, you then build it up from there.
