Loafers - they never date.
You can wear loafers all year round and a common trend in Autumn and Winter is to wear them with a pair of socks.
I recommend your socks to be either cream or grey to keep it classic.
In spring, however, my favourite look for loafers is with a pair of cuffed jeans or ankle grazing pants.
The width of your jeans leg and the width of your cuff determines the kind of loafers that will work hard in your wardrobe.
The first set of photos below with a straighter-leg pair of jeans and a tad wider cuff works best with a chunkier more solid pair of loafers.
The first slim line black patent pair is leaving me a little unbalanced with these wider cut jeans.
All three of the loafers above work with my slightly slimmer straight leg jeans with the little bit smaller cuff.
Also, be mindful of your loafer colours to frame your jeans. Do you mainly own light, medium or dark jeans?
My Hair colour type suits light, medium and distressed dark jeans (check your Bigger book of Boss to see yours).
I own black, burgundy and print loafers to cover all three jeans colours.
I could also grab a pair of light tan to complete my set. I would need to check the style of my dark distressed jeans to work out whether they need to be slim to my foot or be wider with a chunkier sole.
Once you've established your loafer to jeans and pants style pairing, have a think about your style personality.
Are you more the glam to casual style in the first photo (Eyes and Vibrant) or prefer the more casual and edgy look (Hair and Creative)?
