Part Three

Best jeans colour for your wardrobe
Â
Â
You may never have given this a second thought, but there’s a reason some denim colours seem to work effortlessly with your wardrobe while others just don’t.
It all comes down to the colours you already have hanging in your wardrobe and how your denim connects them all together.
For instance, I own a lot of strawberry tops and jackets because it's one of my colours.
And because light denim loves strawberry, light-wash jeans are an incredibly easy grab for me.
But here's the light-bulb moment...
Have you ever pulled on a pair of jeans, looked in the mirror and thought, "Hmm... something's not right" — then taken them straight back off?
You might think the jeans are the problem.
But what if they're not?
Sometimes it's simply that you haven't yet found the colours that love those jeans hanging in your wardrobe.
For me, strawberry and light denim naturally enhance each other, which means I can reach for either one knowing there are already plenty of pieces in my wardrobe that will work with them.
That's why I keep collecting light-wash denim.
Not because I need more jeans...
Because I know they'll connect with the colours I already love to wear.
And THAT is the difference between buying clothes you like and building a wardrobe that actually works.
Â
There’s one light neutral that has a beautiful relationship with every tone of denim, from the lightest wash through to the deepest navy...
Crisp white.
And I don't think it's an accident that white feels so fresh and feminine.
White has an almost angelic quality to it — light, clean, soft and luminous. It brings a sense of freshness to denim and can instantly lift what could otherwise feel like a more casual outfit.
Whether you're wearing light denim, classic medium-wash, bright light denim, or dark denim, crisp white creates a beautiful contrast while keeping the whole outfit feeling fresh, feminine, and effortlessly modern.
Crisp white might not be one of your best light neutrals to wear close to your face — and your eye whites will give you a fascinating clue there — but that doesn't mean you need to avoid it.
Because here's where colour theory becomes so powerful...
When the colours in your outfit are in harmony and enhance one another, the whole look can feel fresher, more polished and effortlessly pulled together.
And this is the part I want you to start noticing:
A colour doesn't have to be your personal best colour to work beautifully in your wardrobe.
It needs to work with the colours around it.
Imagine knowing both...
the colours that make YOU look amazing
and
the colours that make your CLOTHES work beautifully together.
That's when colour stops being guesswork and starts becoming a strategy.
And once you understand that distinction, you'll start looking at your wardrobe very differently... because you may discover you already own far more outfit possibilities than you thought.
