Styling Over-The-Knee Boots
Â
Over-the-knee boots donât have to feel as intimidating as you might think, and yes, they are absolutely ageless. Itâs not about your age. Itâs about how you wear them.
When you follow the right formulas, they stop feeling âtoo muchâ and start feeling like a really natural extension of your winter wardrobe, very Boss, very effortless.
The first thing I always look for is a flat or a block heel rather than a stiletto or kitten heel. It keeps the look grounded and relaxed, rather than dressed up or attention-seeking.
Â
The goal here is to feel like youâre wearing a long boot for warmth and ease, not for drama. Thatâs when over-the-knee boots really come into their own, when they feel practical, comfortable, and quietly confident.
Â
You Can Make Anything You Love Work For You And Your Lifestyle.Â
Â
You donât have to wear opaque stockings with your over-the-knee boots, feel free to go with that little sneak peek of bare leg, but if youâre new to this style, or just want that extra bit of comfort, adding opaques can help you feel more covered and pulled together, and of course, a lot warmer too.
Once you realise they donât have to be bold or âout there,â you start to see them differently.Â
Keep your leg line (from just below your calf muscle up to just below your thigh), in a similar depth of colour.
When that section stays consistent, you create a long, uninterrupted line through the leg, which helps everything look more streamlined and balanced.
So tan over-the-knee boots mean you can either show a sliver of bare skin or go for a medium grey pair of opaque stockings.
Â
Whereas dark taupe over-the-knee boots are paired with either a sliver of skin or charcoal opaque stockings.Â
 Â
Itâs also where things get really fun, because suddenly your summer dresses, skirts, and shorts donât get packed away; they just transition with you into the cooler months.
There really is no end to how much more wear you can get out of what you already own!
Think over-the-knee boots are only for dresses and skirts? Think again.
